Semarang: A different scenery was seen at the last Swimming match at Jati Diri Stadion, Semarang, on Monday (22/7).
Unlike the previous three days, the champions got special treatment. When they walked to the podium, the heroes were accompanied by dancers with Gambang Semarang as the backsound.
It’s quite a sight to see the athletes had to walk very slowly behind the dancers who moved gracefully in Central Java’s traditional costume. The men were seen smiling watching them.
Meanwhile, four Malaysian swimmers who got bronze from 400 meters Medley appeared to be relaxed as they walked along, following the dance moves.
“I love swimming and dancing. I would like to learn the dance if I have time,” Nessa Yin said shyly. (dok/asg2019)
